Someone says that there is a difference between a tourist and a pilgrim. A tourist, he says, is someone who goes to a place to experience new things, meet new people, see new places. A pilgrim, on the other hand, is someone who goes to a place to become new. Making a retreat is having the same attitude as a pilgrim. If you enter the retreat simply like a tourist you won’t really gain that much. For Ignatius, one enters a retreat to meet the Lord with magnanimity and generosity of heart.

The prayers below are ordered to deepen your prayer as you progress. Having said that, feel free to stay and spend more time on the suggestions that really help you to pray and leave those that don’t. The important thing is that you are able to pray and find God.

You may play this instrumental music, Take and Receive, to help you dispose yourself to prayer.
